How to Add Mail, Contact, and Calender Accounts to Your iPad 2

This article will show you how to set up your mail, contacts, and calendars with your iPad 2 by syncing it with your MobileMe, Google, AOL or Yahoo! account.

Steps

MobileMe
  1. This account will let you use the Find My iPad feature which helps you locate your iPad if it is lost or stolen, and it will protect the information on your iPad.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the iPad’s home screen.
  3. Tap the Mail, Contacts, Calendars icon. Then tap Add Account.
  4. Tap the MobileMe icon.
    • You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password. If you do not have an Apple ID, tap the Create Free Apple ID icon and follow the onscreen instructions.
  5. Confirm that Find My iPad is turned on.
Other mail account services (such as Google, AOL and Yahoo!)
  1. Tap the Settings icon on the home screen. Then tap the Mail, Contacts, Calendars icon.
  2. Tap Add Account and choose either Google, AOL, or Yahoo! You will be prompted to enter your name, email address, password and a service description.
    • To add other accounts, such as POP accounts or Microsoft Exchange Accounts, tap the Settings icon on the home screen. Then tap the Mail, Contacts, Calendars icon. Tap Add Account and then tap Other.
  3. Choose the account type you wish to add, whether it is mail, contacts, or calendars, and enter in your account information. Then tap Save.

Tips

  • To set up a Microsoft exchange account you should obtain the account set-up information from your system administrator. This information may be different from your usual username and password.
